About
We built the room we wanted to be in.
We kept meeting ambitious people in different cities who should have known each other.
Our story
I couldn't find the room I wanted to be in. So I decided to build it.
I spent years moving between cities, communities and different worlds, and kept looking for something I couldn't quite find.
A place where ambitious young people could meet without everything feeling like networking.
Where you could talk about what you're building, but also travel, explore, laugh, have ridiculous conversations and actually enjoy being around each other.
I tried some of the existing communities.
One experience in particular stayed with me.
I showed up excited to meet people. Instead, I found a room full of people who barely spoke to one another.
Everyone was there.
Nobody was really together.
And it made me realise something:
Maybe connection shouldn't be the activity.
Maybe it should be the byproduct.
Give people something worth experiencing together.
Put them somewhere new.
Give them enough time to let their guard down.
Then let the relationships happen.
So I started Frontiers.
A conversation became a group chat.
The group chat became a community.
And now we're building the room we wished existed in the first place.
We're still figuring out exactly what Frontiers becomes.
But the ambition is simple:
Bring the right people closer.
Give them reasons to experience more together.
See what becomes possible.
Why it exists
The people were never the problem. Finding each other was.
What we hold
A few things we won't compromise on.
- 01
Depth over reach
We'd rather build a smaller network of people who genuinely know each other than a crowd of people who simply know of each other.
- 02
The world is not one story.
Lagos isn't Nairobi. Nairobi isn't London. We go to places with something to teach us and people worth meeting.
- 03
Generosity compounds.
Share what you know. Make the introduction. Bring someone into the conversation. The best networks are built by people who make the people around them better. We select for that.
- 04
Connection before transaction.
We're not here to turn every conversation into a pitch. Get to know people first. Let the opportunities happen naturally.
Why experiences
The experience is the excuse. The people are the point.
A dinner. A beach day. A weekend somewhere new. A trip across the border.
We create experiences that give people a reason to spend real time together without the pressure of networking, pitching or trying to make something happen.
Because you never know what comes from simply being around the right people long enough.
A conversation can become a friendship.
A friendship can become a collaboration.
A collaboration can become something neither person could have built alone.
Come and see whether it's for you.
Applications are read as they arrive.
